DEATH OF CORPL. RANDALL.
In our last issue [not found] we gave particulars of the death in France of Corpl. Wilfred Randall, R.E. [sic], only son Mr. and Mrs. Randall, of Station-approach, Leatherhead. During the week the parents have received the following letter from the sister in charge of the 56th Casualty Clearing Station:

"You will have heard before this the sad news that your son, Corpl. Wilfred Randall died of his wounds in the abdomen on September 30th, at 11.30 a.m. It was not possible for me write you at the time owing stress of work, but I feel I should like to let you know how very much I feel for you in your great loss. It may be a little comfort to you to know that we were able make your boy comfortable, and to let him feel that he was amongst friends, all that possible was done to save has life, but it was not to be. I do not think Corpl. Randall suffered much pain. He seemed comfortable, and his mind was at rest. He showed his fine spirit of patience and courage to the last. You must, I feel, be very proud of your boy."
