source: Judith Crawford (Tyrrell), based on her article in the Leatherhead Advertiser September 18, 1997 I felt that it would be a tribute to have this in the paper as it is 45 years since we all stood on that spot and most of them will be 60 this year - some of us reached this stage last year [1996]. Unfortunately I do know of one who passed away [in 1997] and one who is in Australia and who visited myself and Mavis this year - I had not seen her for 36 years. In the April of 1953 our year and some of the other senior years moved from Kingston Road Secondary School to Dilston Road, where most of us only stayed until the July. We were a happy crowd who all got on well, we also had a good form master Mr. Edward Biggs who we affectionately called Ted, not to his face I might add; the Headmaster was Mr.S.A.Moore, who knew we called him SAM. |
